Boston 2012 International Investigation
and Security Professionals Symposium

in conjunction with the World Association of Detectives (WAD) 87th Annual Conference
& the National Council of Investigation & Security Services 37th Annual Conference (NCISS)

From the Host of Boston 2012

It was during WAD’s Annual Conference in Denver in 2008 that Tom Shamshak and I had the idea of proposing Boston as the location for one of our upcoming annual meetings. What started out as a simple idea of hosting a WAD event has grown into a joint event with NCISS. I am sure the Boston 2012 International Investigation and Security Professionals Symposium will be historic for both WAD and NCISS.

Tom and I have been working and planning our joint seminar with NCISS for over a year now, and we can’t wait to show off our great city. We have lined up a world class list of speakers and events that you will not want to miss.

Boston is known as the walking city. It is small and friendly, and you can literally walk around the whole city in a day, seeing all the historic sites. It is also the gateway to the rest of New England. In just a few hours, you can be in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the lovely country inns of Vermont, the sandy beaches of Cape Cod or the rocky and scenic coast of Maine.

I could go on and on about all there is to do and see in Boston but it's better to experience the place yourself. You will get a chance to see your old friends from NCISS and WAD and no doubt make new ones.

Don’t miss the Boston 2012 International Investigation and Security Symposium. Registered today and I will see you all in Boston!
Cheers,

President, World Association of Detectives (WAD)

WAD 87th Annual Conference takes a different turn, a super event jointly organized with NCISS and Boston University. It is gratifying to note the realization of the efforts mooted some two years ago.

Our tri-parte relationship, given WAD and NCISS’s historical beginnings, is a positive direction towards cultivating and enhancing the vital links between academia and professional practice in the private investigation and security services industry, which has evolved and progressed tremendously in today’s global economic environment. The International Investigation & Security Professionals Symposium, which is opened to members and non-members of WAD and NCISS, is truly an international platform with representation of WAD members of multi-disciplined from around the world, to share our thoughts, knowledge and successes, while strengthening relationship with industry players to promote international business. Coupled with our distinguished panel of speakers presenting their expertise, perspective and experience, Boston 2012 is poised to be a great meeting not to be missed!

WAD Board Meetings, General Meeting and the Gala Banquet with the handing over of the baton of leadership remain as WAD’s grand annual tradition.
To our WAD and NCISS members, we hope to see you there, in Boston.

President, National Council of Investigation & Security Services (NCISS)

It was April 2002 when members from both the WAD and the NCISS last gathered at the Hotel Washington in Washington DC. Now, ten years later, we meet again and what better city than Boston, Massachusetts.

On behalf of NCISS, I’d like to express my profound gratitude to those who spent countless hours preparing for the 2012 Boston Conference. As we share our time together let us not forget our meager beginnings and those we only wish could be with us these few days who had the vision of what would eventually become the NCISS. Let us be forever grateful for the bond of a great friendship with our big sister association, The World Association of Detectives.

I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

Maria Vinson Landry, CPP
President - NCISS
